The sensational paintings of contemporary Chinese cinema were shown at the Contemporary China Film Festival: the film nominated for the Golden Palm Branch of the Cannes Film Festival; an epic picture that has become a cult among international film festivals, as well as a Tibetan picture shot on the Kukushili ridge by Wong Kar Wai's production studio. Director of honor Jia Zhangke, winner of the Golden Lion of the Venice Film Festival and repeated participant in competitions in Cannes and Berlin, became an honored guest of the grand opening of the festival.
