International festival «St.Petersburg — India»
On June 16, 2024, a large festival “St. Petersburg - India” was held in the park of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg. Its opening was timed to coincide with the International Yoga Day, which is annually celebrated at the end of the first summer month.
Several thematic zones were prepared for the participants of the event, where they could do yoga, do exercises in a nail rack, try on saris, play chess, do Indian calligraphy, weave mandalas or paint with spices.
In addition, the festival created a gastronomic space where St. Petersburg residents and tourists were treated to national Indian dishes, including several types of curries. The participants were also given lectures on Indian culture and the history of yoga, and in the evening of June 16 there was a fashion show with Indian national costumes and wedding dresses.
