The three-year All-Russian Theater Festival dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the classic’s birth has ended in St. Petersburg.
April 12, 2023 marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Nikolaevich Ostrovsky, an outstanding Russian playwright and theater reformer. This date served as an excellent occasion for a bright and large-scale presentation of his artistic heritage on the modern theater stage. From 2021, the All-Russian Theater Festival “Forward to Ostrovsky!” annually collected in St. Petersburg the best productions of the classic plays.
Over three years, 35 productions were presented on the stage of the Baltic House Theater Festival and other theater stages in St. Petersburg. More than 12 thousand spectators attended the performances of the program.
The third and final festival “Forward to Ostrovsky!” took place from November 18 to November 27, 2023. The forum's poster included performances from Moscow, Tomsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Voronezh, Vologda, Yaroslavl and St. Petersburg.
The Cosmos Limited company provided accommodation services for festival participants.
